American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL): A national organization dedicated to the improvement and expansion of the teaching and learning of all languages at all levels of instruction throughout the U.S. Hosts an annual conference for language teachers.

Asia Society: The leading educational organization dedicated to promoting mutual understanding
and strengthening partnerships among peoples, leaders and institutions of Asia and
the United States in a global context. Hosts the annual National Chinese Language
Conference for Chinese teachers.

The Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition (CARLA): Based at the University of Minnesota, CARLA is one of the U.S. Department of Education's Title VI National Language Resource Centers, whose role is the nation's capacity to teach and learn foreign languages. Offers many forms of professional development for teachers and administrators including CARLA Summer Institutes and conferences on language teacher education and language immersion education.

Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Langauges (CSCTFL): Aims to promote the study of world languages on all levels of instruction. Hosts an annual conference for language teachers.

Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools: A non-profit professional organization that represents all Chinese language educators at all levels from elementary to secondary schools.

Chinese Language Teachers Association: A professional organization devoted exclusively to the study of Chinese language, culture and pedagogy.

Foreign Language Resource Centers (LRCs): The common goal of the LRCs is to promote the learning and teaching of foreign languages in the United States.

Minnesota Department of Education Mandarin Initiative: The state agency that manages teacher licensing and supports the Chinese Visiting Teacher Program and the Minnesota Teach Abroad program in Hangzhou, China.

Minnesota Council on the Teaching of Languages and Cultures (MCTLC): The Minnesota affiliate of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages and a member of the Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (CSC) as well as the Joint National Committee for Languages (JNCL). Hosts an annual conference for language teachers.

The National East Asian Languages Resource Center (NEALRC): Based at The Ohio State University, the NEALRC has contributed to many initiatives designed to increase learners' abilities to master advanced levels of language and cultural competence.
