Total Physical Response and Storytelling for Chinese Classrooms

Participate in a demonstration of how language teachers can stay in the target language and teach meaningful content at the same time, even in beginning levels! Comprehensible input strategies like TPR and storytelling will be modeled during a highly interactive workshop where the teachers are students in a mock beginning Swedish class. You will learn geography, some cultural facts and the story of Nobel, creator of the Nobel Peace Prize. After the demonstration the group will reflect on the personal language-learning experience and share ideas of how these strategies can be transferred to Chinese language lessons for any age group or level of proficiency. You can teach your students all about China and do it all in Chinese! This workshop is taught by Janice Kittock, World Language Consultant with Educator in Service.
