K-12 Cultural Access Mini-Grant

The Confucius Institute mini-grant program serves Minnesota’s K-12 school community with the aim to increase opportunities for Minnesota schools to engage in Chinese language and culture activities. Funding can be used to support specific Chinese cultural activities including cultural performances, guest artist programs, and purchase of cultural supplies for instructional purposes.

** Expenses for field trips and facility rentals are less likely to be considered over school-based activities. Funding will not be granted to school's requesting funding solely for purchasing food or cooking ingredients and supplies. Requests that include cooking needs will only be considered if cooking needs are 1/3 (or less) of the budget.

For the 2017-2018 academic year grant cycle, funding must be used between November 1, 2017 - August 31, 2018. A limited number of grants are available with a maximum per grant amount of $1,000. Complete applications must include detailed budget information of the event/activity and how grand funds will be spent. The application deadline is Saturday, October 7,2017.
