Intermediate Chinese II

Students enrolling in Intermediate II Chinese are expected to be able to sustain a short conversation prior to the beginning of this course. Students should also have a solid understanding of the Chinese character structure, know the key radicals and can recognize about 500 Chinese characters.  

Students will continue to develop their vocabulary and sentence structures in Intermediate II class. The topics covered will include not only daily conversations, but also some semi-formal topics related to one’s community. Topics included in this course are describing detailed characteristics of a person, life style, hometown, housing and examinations. There is no written homework, though the instructor may request additional time outside class or provide some oral assignments.

It is not necessary to purchase a textbook. All necessary materials will be distributed in class by the instructor.
