Highlights from the Summer 2015 Shanghai Program

Week of July 27, 2015

The NSLI-Y programing in Shanghai came to a conclusion on Friday, July 31, 2015, as NSLI-Y participants held their own Chinese commencement with activities reflecting their Chinese learning experience, speeches and gift exchange with the teachers. The commencement was an all-Chinese event, during which time, every student received their completion certificate and presented their final project of oral Chinese speech reflecting NSLI-Y experiences. Classroom activities included a final Chinese language quiz followed by a thorough review of everything that was learned during the 6 week program in Shanghai.

Students will spend their last week in China by spending five days in Beijing before they head back to the United States on August 6. Students will continue language learning with task-based activities, including interviewing local Beijing people. They will also visit the Confucius Institute Headquarters and have a field trip to the Great Wall.
