Members of the Minnesota Chinese language teaching community convened at the Minneapolis Institute of Art on November 11 for the Confucius Institute's Minnesota Chinese Language Teachers Annual Conference.
Lectures were given by Sheree Willis, Executive Director of the Confucius Institute at Kansas University, and Dr. Liu Yang, curator of the Terracotta Warriors exhibit currently at the MIA.
Willis' engaging lecture addressed the topic of teaching culture in the classroom. Dr. Yang then spoke about the internationally acclaimed collection of Chinese art in the MIA's permanent collection, of which he then gave a guided tour. The afternoon concluded with docent-led tours of the much-anticipated Terracotta Warriors exhibit.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's event, and for helping to make it an enjoyable afternoon of learning and exchange. For those unable to attend, we look forward to seeing you at next year's conference.
